One table, many European influences
A menu that travels freely—guided by flavor, simplicity, and the pleasures of the season.

Europe is not one cuisine. It is thousands of local traditions, shaped by coastlines, farms, seasons, family tables, and generations of cooks. At Vinea, that variety gives us room to create a menu that feels both familiar and full of discovery.
We do not try to fit the restaurant neatly inside the borders of one country. Instead, we cook with the ideas that have always drawn us to European food: good ingredients treated with care, time-honored techniques, sauces made with patience, and plates that invite you to slow down and enjoy the company around you.
Some dishes lean toward the Mediterranean, with olive oil, garlic, fresh herbs, seafood, tomatoes, and bright flavors. Others find inspiration farther north, where slow braises, mushrooms, handmade pasta, and deeply savory sauces bring warmth and comfort to the table. A dinner at Vinea can move between those places without feeling like a collection of separate cuisines, because the same sense of balance and hospitality connects every plate.
Our menu travels across Europe, but it always returns to the same place: a generous table shared with people you care about.
That freedom is one of the things we value most. It allows us to serve a delicate fish with primavera risotto one evening, a rich slow-braised specialty another, and a fresh pasta that changes with the ingredients and ideas inspiring the kitchen. We can honor a classic preparation while still making it feel at home in Charleston and in our courtyard.
Letting the season lead
Seasonality keeps the menu alive. Rather than forcing every ingredient into the same year-round pattern, we look for what feels right now: something bright and fresh when the weather is warm, deeper and more comforting flavors as the evenings cool, or a beautiful fish or cut of meat that deserves to become the night’s feature.
Our nightly features are where that approach becomes most visible. They give the kitchen space to respond—to what is freshest, to a technique we want to explore, or simply to a dish we are excited to share. For regular guests, those changing plates offer a reason to discover something new while returning to the welcoming experience they already know.
Familiar, with something unexpected
Approachable does not have to mean predictable. We want guests to recognize the pleasure in a dish before the first bite, then notice the details: the lift of fresh herbs, the depth of a carefully built sauce, the texture of handmade pasta, or a wine pairing that brings everything into focus.
That balance also shapes our wine list. European traditions remind us that wine is not separate from dinner; it belongs to the table. Whether the bottle comes from Italy, France, Spain, Greece, or closer to home, the goal is the same—to complement the food and make the whole evening more enjoyable.
Vinea means vineyard in Latin, but to us the name represents more than wine. A vine grows by reaching outward while remaining connected to its roots. That is how we think about the menu: open to many influences, grounded in the cooking and hospitality that brought us here, and always growing with the people who gather around our tables.
There will always be another dish to explore. We hope you will come hungry, share a few plates, ask about the evening’s features, and let the table take you somewhere.
